Ganoes Paran Draws a Card

My piece of artwork for The Bonehunters - book 6 of the Malazan Book of the Fallen. Spoilers below the acknowledgements, beware!

This one required quite a bit of critique to pull it kicking and screaming into an acceptable state. Malazan spoilers:
3/4th's of the way through The Bonehunters, someone or something breaks apart a meteor from the moon and Paran is forced to bargain with a god to stop this from being a continent-shattering apocalypse, so he draws a card in the sand. One of my favorite sequences I've ever read. Imagine a war starting and this is the first move made. The world grew so large, and the visual of Paran facing eastward drawing the card in the sand is immense, I knew that's what I had to depict.
